Summary

Practice Description
My clients experience a variety of concerns, including anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, life transitions, depression, grief, insomnia, and trauma. One of my specialties is working with adults adjusting to recent cognitive changes (e.g., COVID brain fog, mild cognitive impairment) and family members of loved ones with a progressive neurological disorder (e.g., dementia). Amidst life's toughest moments, finding clarity, connection, and joy is still possible.

I am affirming of all identities and their intersections (e.g., living at the intersections of being BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, living with disability, etc). As a 1.5 generation Chinese American woman, I hold insight into the experiences of immigrants and the kinds of expectations that are common for many in the Asian American diaspora. I also have extensive work experience at academic and medical centers, and I am aware of the demands many graduate students, medical students, and healthcare workers face. I apply these insights in my work as a therapist, and I'll work with you to build upon your inner strengths and efforts to heal. I integrate evidence-based techniques to meet you where you are. In other words, I integrate a culturally responsive approach to recognize your authentic self, address the impacts of oppressive systems, and work with you to implement helpful coping skills.

In our personal and professional relationships, many of us have been taught to minimize our feelings, to make ourselves smaller, to ignore our own needs, and to not be a burden. Sometimes we don’t have the language for discussing our pain or even our joy. We will work together to reflect on what matters most to you and build a life that you want. I will meet you where you are, so that you can live your life with clarity, intentionality, and authenticity.
