She is a 1.5 generation Korean-Irish Licensed Clinical Psychologist based out of Chicago who speaks English and conversational Korean. 1.5 generation is one way to say she moved to the States in early childhood. Her mother is Korean and her father is a disabled US Army veteran. With several relocations and neurodiverse presentations in her multilingual family, her training in psychology began early on. Dr. Han earned her Masters and Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She provides care through a relational, collaborative, gender and neurodivergent affirming, social justice, and trauma informed lens. Much of her work includes meeting people where they are while helping individuals and families navigate a variety of stresses, traumas, & relational and developmental challenges. She utilizes evidence-based trauma treatments such as EMDR, Brainspotting, and Narrative therapy, along with play, expressive art, Geek Therapy, and honors ancestral healing practices. In addition to providing therapy & neuropsychological assessments, Dr. Han has also worked as part of an APA accredited training team, supervising emerging psychologists with a passion for supporting their work with culturally & neurologically diverse individuals. She is a member of many professional organizations including ASDAH, Association for Size Diversity which centers on the principles of Health At Every Size® (HAES®), the American Psychological Association (APA), the Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA), and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists. Dr. Han also enjoys volunteering with nonprofits such as the AMHC, KAWA, & co-founded NAAAP-Chicago’s Wellness Program. She has spoken nationally on panels such as C2E2, WonderCon, and SDCC to advocate for diversity in media, access to healthcare, & the use of pop culture in therapy and education. For fun, she enjoys collecting Hello Kitty and Tokidoki, joyful body movement, culinary adventures, knitting, art, cosplay, and playing with her puppy, who is currently training for her therapy dog certification.
