Summary
Practice Description
Hello and welcome! I am a Clinical Psychologist and have practiced as a psychotherapist for
over 20 years. May of my clients have commented that they healed and grew tremendously while
working with me because I help them gain insight into their problems while also helping them
use healthy strategies to change their situations. The essence of my practice is to provide a
culturally sensitive and Integrative therapy stance. Using the foundation of an authentic, trusting,
and warm relationship, I use a number of modalities including Psychodynamic, Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have also been trained in
Art Therapy and creative writing. The diverse nature of my training and experience allows me to
use a variety of interventions with my clients, guided my clients’ needs and requests. I recognize
the individuality of each client I work with, and tailor my interventions to meet each person
where they are at the moment.
I consider my areas of specialization to be women’s issues especially for women of color,
trauma, attachment issues, and managing cultural influences and dynamics. I have worked with
many diagnoses including depression, anxiety, PTSD, adjustment disorders, and personality
organization. Overall, I highly value the importance of developing an authentic and healthy
identity that allows individuals to reach their goals. During my time as a therapist, I have
successfully worked with persons across the lifespan in individual, couples, and group therapy. I
have also worked extensively with underserved populations including persons who identify as
racial and ethnic minorities, women of color, single parents, university students, and senior
citizens. I have provided specialized individual and group therapy for South Asian and South
Asian American women as they navigate processes such as separation and individuation from
families of origin, resolving trauma, acculturation, and resolving conflict with family members.
I recognize that finding a therapist and engaging in therapy can be a confusing and
overwhelming process. I also believe it is important for each person to find the right fit when
choosing a therapist. Please reach out to schedule a brief, complimentary Consultation so we can
see if we can work well together. I look forward to meeting you!
