Summary

Practice Description
I emphasize on therapeutic relationship in therapy – being genuine, empathic, and respectful to what you bring into the therapy space. I will collaborate with you in the therapy process and support you in practicing awareness of your emotions and taking the courage to address difficult life experiences as well as celebrate your successes and accomplishments. I also take a strength-based approach and am willing to be flexible. I will encourage you to take risks and challenges in therapy sessions so I can help you grow by exploring different perspectives. I will offer you some practical skills to relieve stress in life, such as mindfulness exercises. I believe therapy is a two-way street, so I am open to your feedback and will welcome you to bring it up at any time during the process. I work from a social justice, anti-racist, and feminist lens. I believe everyone brings a unique history, heritage, and life stories into therapy sessions and I am responsive and respectful to your cultures in all treatments I provide to you. Through an anti-oppressive and multicultural lens, I focus on addressing your concerns, thoughts and emotions when interacting with the sociopolitical contexts and helping you gain awareness, knowledge, and skills to identify your strengths, power, and positionality. As a trained therapist, I can work in a generalist framework. I’ve received extensive training on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also often incorporate a psychodynamic framework integrated with feminist approaches as we find addressing how early relationships affect your current interpersonal relationships helpful.
